The Berkeley Undergraduate Scholarship is awarded to new and continuing students on the basis of both academic merit and financial need. To apply, students must be of the Catholic faith and of Italian heritage (or children or grand children of non-Italian ICF members) and meet academic, financial need, and character requirements. Recipients must maintain a GPA of at least 3.2 and live within the Roman Catholic Dioceses of California, Nevada, Illinois and Arizona, only where Branches of the Federation are established. First year scholarship winners are eligible for second, third, and fourth year awards of $500, $600, and $1,000 respectively. Applications for the upcoming year are available end of November, and the Scholarship committee meets in April to review applications and make its selections. There is a single scholarship application for entering freshman academic scholarships, which include the Chancellor’s, Silas Hunt, and University Scholarships. Students can begin this process by registering online or downloading a paper version of the application on the Apply Online page of the High School Seniors section of our website. This single application will allow a student to apply for 90% of merit-based scholarships available to entering freshmen. Scholarship applicants must also apply for admission to the University of Arkansas via a separate Admission Application. The scholarship recipients are in the top 5% of all students nationally, based on GPA, strength of curriculum, ACT and/or SAT scores, writing skills, demonstrated leadership, success in national scholarship competitions, and many other areas of achievement. The scholarships are awarded competitively. Candidates for scholarships typically have a minimum of a 3.75 GPA and 28 ACT/1240 SAT. Applicants with a grade point average (GPA) starting at 3.25 and 1100 SAT score (verbal and math only) (24 composite ACT) will be considered for an award. Financial need of each applicant will be considered in the selection process. This award is renewable annually based on meeting all scholarship renewal criteria. All eligible applicants that meet the criteria by the designated deadlines will be placed in a pool and ranked using the three criteria of test scores (SAT/ACT), high school grades point averages and financial need. If you are a Georgia resident enrolling in a degree program at an eligible Georgia public or private college, university, or public technical college, you may be eligible for the HOPE Scholarship. Recipients have graduated from an eligible high school with a "B" average, as defined by the HOPE program, or have earned at least a 3.0 grade point average at the college level at specific credit-hour checkpoints. Students who earned a GED or graduated from an ineligible high school or home study program may qualify for a HOPE Scholarship, as an entering freshman, based on their SAT or ACT scores. Be enrolled as a degree-seeking student at an eligible public or private college or university or technical college in Georgia. Meet HOPE's Georgia residency requirements. Meet HOPE's U.S. citizenship or eligible non-citizen requirements.
Be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements. Be in compliance with the Georgia Drug-Free Postsecondary Education Act of 1990. A student may be ineligible for HOPE payment if he or she has been convicted for committing certain felony offenses involving marijuana, controlled substances, or dangerous drugs. Not be in default or owe a refund on a student financial aid program. Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the college. To apply for SAMFund grants and scholarships, you must have had cancer, be finished with active treatment, between that ages of 17 and 35, be a US resident or citizen. Our application process happens once a year, beginning with a Letter of Intent (LOI) phase in June. Anyone interested in applying must first submit an LOI. After a review period, selected applicants will then be invited to submit a full application. Those applicants will be notified in November as to whether they have received a grant. To assist students and their families in meeting the financial demands of a college education, Savannah State awards merit-based scholarships and grants annually Candidates with a high school grade point average of 3.0, a minimum ACT composite score of 21 or a minimum SAT composite score of 1000, and rank in the top 25% of their class are considered for academic scholarships. Scholarship competition may also include a writing sample, group discussing and an individual interview on campus. |

For the academic and leadership scholarships, freshmen are automatically evaluated upon admissions application. Students who present qualifying academic credentials in their admission application are awarded scholarships upon admission to the University. Scholarship offers are determined through the use of an academic index. The index is calculated using the high school unweighted cumulative GPA and the highest ACT or SAT I test score, to determine eligibility and offer amount. The Application for Admission is the same application for scholarships. The priority application deadline for scholarships is February 1st. After which scholarships are awarded. The VSU Admissions Office gives out academic scholarships to incoming freshmen each Fall Semester.
Students that meet the minimum requirements for the scholarships will automatically be sent an application from the Admissions Office. In order to be considered for one of these scholarships, freshmen must have a grade point average of 3.1 academic classes only, SAT or ACT scores and extracurricular activities. The minimum SAT score to qualify is 1240 (combined Critical Reading & Math) or 28 ACT (Composite). We do combine your best scores from each test. Other scholarships will be available through the Financial Aid Office and various departments. This application will be available ONLINE ONLY again starting January 1. |
